Uniforms for Uniformity!

Written on February 5, 2011 – 11:39 pm | by Mommy Rubz |

My daughter once asked me why some of the nursing students wore these fun looking scrub suits that came in pink, blue, and green colors with patterned tops. At first I was confused because I did not know why that was so, until I asked a close friend of mine what types of medical uniforms those were.

She told me that people in medical institutions actually have various types of clothing, varying from the doctor’s scrub suit that often comes in green. There are also doctors that wear the traditional white robes that distinguish them from the nurses, and then there is also a difference between what the nurses wear and what some midwives wear.

As for the question at hand, apparently the students wear those types of clothing whenever they are on duty at the pediatric ward. Apparently this is a bit of a nice move on behalf of the medical world to help make the kids at the pedia feel better because of the colorful patterns. It is simply fun to watch!

My scrub suits are all plain in colors. I don’t have the chance to wear printed ones since I worked at medical ward when I was an active RN before. Somehow, I missed the times of wearing uniforms during work days.
