Remembering Childhood Days
Back when I was in my elementary years, I remember that my uncle sold used tires and rims. These are not just ordinary car tires and rims. They are used tires and rims for construction vehicles like a backhoe or a tractor. They were all big that I can even play inside it.
We used to play inside these tires but when dengue struck our nation, our parents advised us not to play inside anymore. My uncle also paid someone to clean up the inside of the tires from stagnant water to make sure our surroundings were safe. Then later on, he stopped his business and shifted to another one much safer for us, the children at that time.
So when the remaining tires and rims were sold, I slowly felt that I will be missing them. It was always fun to play inside a tire 5 times bigger than you in width and 2 times bigger than you in height! Yup, these were really big big tires and rims! They were bigger than me that is why I can play inside!
Anyway, those were fun days of my childhood years. It is not every day that children get used to play inside humongous tires.

Yes, playing inside a tire or rim that was bigger than you was like playing in your very own play house. You can imagine all sorts of adventures and escapades. Those were part of our childhood days when life was laid back and more relax. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

It’s always fun to look back on those childhood days. Remembering when the simple joys of life and the love of your family was all you needed. No bills, no worries, just living.
It’s a shame that we lose pleasure in the simple, pure things in life as we get older. My prayers for my own children and all the people here is that they grow up and are able to hold onto the joys in simple fun and love as they get older.
We get so caught up in money, and status and being right all the time that we forget that God put us here to love and to enjoy His creation. God bless you all.
Those good old times brought fun memories.
You brought back my childhood memories. I was very naughty, when i was around 6 year old. I used to play in little bullock cart as I lived in a little village in my elementary days. Bullock cart’s tires used to be the same like in a tractor or in truck. I used to usually operate the Bullock cart and my friends were my cart’s sitting person.
Thanks for making my memory refresh!
What I remember when I was small was playing around and in culverts that were not yet underground.
Hi, I’m a newbie blogger. Just dropped by to say that I really like your blog! Keep up the good work.

We would use the old tires to border an impromptu sandbox. Your post took me back!
Oh.. I haven’t tried doing that when I was a kid. Huhu, you made me remember my my childhood years. Hmm… I can feel your emotion. Reminiscing the past, most especially the memorable moments of our lives, make us feel sad and chuckle and laugh out loud with some crazy stuff we did when we are kids and hoping we could bring back the past and do it again.
We used old tires to make a swing.
