Mother’s Day Ideas Straight from a Mom
I’ve been very busy these past couple of days because I was preparing for my daughter’s 11th birthday party. Thank goodness the party was a success and the smile plastered on my daughter’s lips all throughout the party was enough to compensate me for a lethargic week. So now I’m actually looking forward to the next celebration on my mental list and that happens to be a day meant especially for me. No, it’s not my birthday. I’m referring to Mother’s Day. I can already see it in the horizon and although I’m not expecting anything grand, I’m excited for it.

I’ll let you in on a secret, though. Us mothers, we don’t really anticipate anything special on that day. A simple hug, a kiss and “I love you” from people who matter most to us is more than enough. However, if you are a kid and you really want to go all out on that special day, here’s what you must do and this is coming straight from a mother’s mouth. Prepare a simple meal for mom. It can be breakfast, lunch or even a snack. It can be burnt eggs or instant noodles it doesn’t matter as long as the effort is there. Simple Mother’s Day Gifts may be appropriate, too, and when I say simple, it could be as simple as a handmade card or anything you created with your loving hands.
Mothers Day is supposed to be a day where children let their mothers know how much they love and appreciate everything they’ve done for them and are actually still doing. As a mother, I can say that more than the gifts I may receive on that day, it’s the thought that my kids really put forth effort to make me feel special that would count the most.
