How to make Money Sub-Letting a Foreign Villa

England. These days it seems that as many of us are trying to escape it as people are eager to come and live here, the economic downturn has meant a shortage of jobs and very little prosperity, even more the most qualified and well educate individuals. This is leading to two phenomena, firstly people are moving abroad to start new careers, either on a permanent basis or for a temporary period so they can earn money while Britain rides out the economic storm. Also more and more people are starting up their own businesses, taking it upon themselves to be self-sufficient.

It has come to my attention recently that these two concepts can be combined in an idea that’s actually been around for years but now seems wholly more relevant now the UK is plunged into crisis. This is the idea is of sub-letting a foreign property to tourists. It is a relatively low risk venture and one that is guaranteed to bring in the dough. I got the idea from a friend that decided to go and live in Portugal.

How this works is relative simple, just pick a tourist hotspot, perhaps one that sits on a golf course or near the beach, and purchase a villa. Of course you need the capital behind you initially to make this massive investment but it should pay off once you do. The benefits are two-fold. You get to live in the Villa during the winter months so you can enjoy balmier weather than the UK experiences, and in the summer months, you rent it out to holiday makers and rake in the earnings.

Of course this sounds quite simple but there is plenty of preliminary work to be done. The villa needs to be in a great location, that’s near the beach, near to a town or village center, or at least a small cluster of bars and pubs, and it needs to be well kitted out. Wealthy English tourists demand nothing but the best and a villa should have a swimming pool, nice kitchen, multiple bathrooms and also the electronic equipment that Brits have come to expect like Sky TV and the like.

The villa should also have ample dining equipment that includes cutlery, plates and maybe even some top of the forever crystal glasses and champagne flutes! Whatever the character of the villa, just ensure that patron s are getting the quality and value they have paid for.
