We live in a high-tech society today, and technology is changing all the time. This makes it imperative that children learn to use technology as soon as possible. The sooner they become comfortable around technology the easier it will be for them to adapt to a changing world when they are grown, and the more likely they are to develop marketable skills that will one day help them find employment. There are now electronic gadgets that will provide both entertainment and learning opportunities for even the youngest of children. Ten of them are described below. They are listed roughly in order of increasing complexity.

1. A watch

You may not believe it, but a watch can be a useful gadget for young children. It will help them learn to tell time and teach them how to manipulate an electronic device. Many have useful features such as alarm clocks and stopwatches. There are also themed watches available that feature favorite children’s characters.

2. A camera

Kids love to take pictures, and a camera can be a great gadget for a child. They can learn how to take and even edit their own pictures. There are a number of cameras available that are made specifically for children. Some of them include built-in photo editors that have accessories such as stamps and frames. 3. MP3 Players

An MP3 player is not just useful for listening to music. It can also be used to listen to educational files.

4. Calculators

A calculator can be a useful tool to help kids learn basic mathematical principles such as addition and multiplication. It may also be required for school. 5. The My Life Portable Console

6. The Tamagotchi V4

This is the latest version of a game involving virtual pets that is popular with both boys and girls. It allows the children to play more mini-games and go to “school.”

7. Spy Kits

Kids love to pretend to be spies, and now there are spy kits for all age levels. They come with a variety of electronic gadgets, and some of them are themed after particular shows such as Star Wars.

8. Robot Kids

There are now a number of robot kits on the market. Kids get to assemble their own robot and then control it with an included remote control. These kits teach children the basics of robotics and how to manipulate electronic devices.

9. The Nintendo Wii or the Playstation 3.

We might as well face it –all children love these gaming systems. They come with a number of advanced features, including the ability to interact with people using the same console in other countries. You can control the games your children play and pick ones that have a proper maturity level. Educational games are also available.

10. A Printer

Kids can do lots of things with a printer. Obviously, printing out schoolwork is at the top of the list, but they can also use a printer to print photos and make arts and crafts. There are several good printers available for kids, including the Canon MP560 All-In-One Inkjet.
